ROHS : WEEE

Our customers are held to observe these directives referring tot he content of hazardous substances in the respective components, so, naturally, we as your supplier are dealing with these guidelines as well.

PREFAG put a lot of time and research activities into clarifying the contents of these directives. Finally we can confirm that there are two Europe-wide directives with the references 2000/95/EG (RoHS) and 2000/96/EG dealing with the subject of avoidance of hazardous substances. But RoHS does not cover instrumentation and medical equipment.

And the law - ElektroG - based on the European law 2002/96/EG explicitly excludes electrical and electronically devices for medical equipment (category 8) and instruments for supervision and control (category 9).

Category 9 refers especially to units for measurement, weighing and regulation in private households and laboratories, as well as monitoring and control instruments for industrial equipment e. g. in control panels. This means that the requirement "free of lead, mercury, hexavalent chrome etc." does not apply to any product PREFAG movements are considering to be used in.
